His research is oriented to, on the one hand, high performance simulation of agent-based models (ABM) of social applications such as movement of people in closed environments, emergency evacuation, spread of epidemics (Dengue/Zika). This objective is achieved using high-performance computing architectures such as local and cloud clusters (private and public). On the other hand, his work focuses to Big Data Processing: computing infrastructure and algorithms for the analysis, management and visualization of large data-sets (on-line and previously stored). His research activity is developed at the SGR HPC4EAS of the UAB.
