What are they?
The Erasmus Mundus Joint European Master’s Degrees (EMJMD) are international, integrated and university study programmes of excellence taught jointly by an international consortium of mostly European higher education institutions , which offer scholarships to students from all over the world. They are funded by the European Commission, in the framework of the European Erasmus programme. The curriculum provides for stays at a minimum of two universities from the consortium and results in a joint degree (awarded by at least two of the institutions) or several degrees officially recognized by the same institutions where the Master’s degree has been studied.
The duration of the programmes can be 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits which last a minimum of one year and a maximum of two.
How to apply?
The current Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree catalogue can be found on the website of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), with links to the websites of each of the Master’s degrees. Students interested in applying for admission must follow the procedures indicated on the website of each Master's degree: complete list.
Grants and scholarships
Financial aid will be awarded to students who have previously been admitted to the studies and in accordance with a selection process. The scholarship covers for participation expenses, which include tuition fees, travel grants and living expenses. The amount will vary depending on the duration of the Master's degree and the distance between the student’s country of origin and the country of destination.
You will not be able to get an Erasmus Mundus scholarship if you have previously obtained one.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are not compatible with other European Commission scholarship schemes.
