Joan Miquel Oliver presents Elektra

Majorcan musician and writer Joan Miquel Oliver (Sóller, 1974), ex-member from band Antònia Font, presents his new LP 'Elektra'. This is the third series of the trilogy that started with 'Pegasus' in 2015 and 'Atlantis' in 2017, in collaboration with illustrator Albert Pinya.

This new album, published last September, is his eighth solo album, counting “Concert a París” with Albert Pla, and his third album ever since band Antònia Font split in 2013. This time, keyboardist Jaume Manresa and drummer Xarli Oliver, who produced the LP with the Majorcan musician and followed him tirelessly during his tours from 2015 to 2018, joined the studio. The aftermath was an organic and artisan music that becomes an electric sound on stage, where improvisation takes special importance.

His pop-based music is combined with lyrics that hide criticism on social and political contexts based on surrealism and irony. For instance, Oliver explained in several interviews that “Elektra” is a mythological character that suffers many injustices by the mere fact of being a woman.
