Recognition of FMUAB as FestaQ
UAB is awarded with the Festa Q emblem, which recognizes festive spaces that have resources related to health and wellbeing.
The Music group (currently under the direction of Poire Vallvé) was created in 2002 with the aim of building a common space for the different musical groups already existing: the Choir, the Orchestra and the Musical Space (scope of modern music).
The UAB Choir was born in 1982 under the direction of Baltasar Planes, in order to introduce music at University. Now the Choir is directed by Poire Vallvé – a UAB professor and director of the Orfeó Gracienc. Its repertoire is varied in periods and styles. It regularly collaborates with the UAB Orchestra and has done several exchanges with other university choirs.
The UAB Orchestra was founded in 1997 under the direction of Joan Casals i Clotet, with the objective that students share musical ideas. In this way, the Orchestra represents a meeting and dialogue space. Since 2001, the director is Jesús Badia, who focuses his musical and stylistic work with rigor, while emphasizes the human capital of the group.
In addition, the Music Group also offers a Voice Technique workshop that allows students to develop, care and enhance their voice.
