APAC (Agency for the Promotion of Activities and Conferences

Conferences & Events UAB Campus is the unit of the FUAB which commercialises the spaces and services on the UAB Campus and is responsible for providing advice, organisation and coordination for the activities that are carried out on the different premises of the university: conferences, conventions and meetings of all kinds, product presentations, social events, outdoor events, as well as summer schools and leisure activities.

Recognised as part of the Campus of International Excellence, the UAB Campus is located 25km from Barcelona in a natural environment covering 230 hectares, and offers a number of halls, auditoria, meeting rooms, a hotel-conference centre, sports facilities and all kinds of restaurant services for all occasions.

In Barcelona, Conferences & Events UAB Campus commercialises the Casa Convalescència, which forms part of the historical Hospital de Santa Creu i Sant Pau site, declared a Historical Artistic Monument and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is the ideal site for organising conferences, meetings, product presentations, social events and all other kinds of gatherings.

Conferences & Events UAB Campus is a member of the Catalunya Convention Bureau, the organisation responsible for the positioning of Catalunya as a MICE tourist destination and also of the Barcelona Convention Bureau.

Internationally, Conferences & Events UAB Campus is a member of the WYSE Travel Confederation.
As member of all these organisations, the service takes part in national and international trade fairs, workshops and conferences.

Since 2017, Conferences & Events UAB Campus has held the chair of the Association of University and University Foundation Conference Offices.

UAB Campus Ambassadors

Conferences & Events UAB Campus has a programme which brings together teaching staff and scientists from the university as collaborators in the promotion and impact of the UAB as an environment for conference and training activity, on both a national and international level.

The UAB Campus Ambassadors programme offers personalised services, such as the presentation of candidatures, events organisation, scientific visits and meetings for ambassadors and promotors of the Campus, and information related to the conference activities at the UAB and in the city of Barcelona.

Since 2003, Conferences & Events UAB Campus has hosted and helped organize different events, meeting and talks. Below are some of the international related activities:

•   ELFA AGM and Conference Legal Education: Knowledge and Skills, a conference organised by the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA), from 26 to 27 April 2018, at the Casa Convalescència. Total number of people attending: 150.
•   The 30th International Marketing Conference AEMARK 2018, organised by the Spanish Association of Academic and Professional Marketing from 5 to 7 October 2018 at the Casa Convalescència. Total number of people attending: 200.
•   CTA Cherenkov Telescope Array Meeting, Conference organised by the Institute of High Energy Physics (IFAE) and the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE) from 16 to 20 April 2018 at the Hotel Exe Campus UAB. Total number of people attending: 60.
•   Nobel Prize Reception and Dinner - ICAP Conference 2018, an event organised nu the Theoretical Physics Group of the Department of Physics at the UAB on 24 July 2018 at the Casa Convalescència. Total number of people attending: 20.
•   Erasmus Plus Active Campus Europe "Move more, feel better", a conference organised by the Physical Activity Service (FAS) of the UAB, which took place on 15 May 2018 at the   Hotel EXE Campus UAB. Total number of people attending: 30.
•   Filming of "Durante la tormenta", by Mirage Productora, on the premises of the University Village on 6 July 2018. Total number of people attending: 25.
•   Filming of a Fanta commercial, by Landia produccions, at the University Village on 6 October 2018. Total number of people attending: 80.
•   Wikimedia Hackaton, organised by the Wikimedia Foundation and the Deputy Manager's Office for Research of the UAB in different university buildings and parts of the campus from 18 to 20 May 2018. Total number of people attending: 200.
•   PRE SUSY Conference-Supersymmetry and Unification of Fundamental Interactions, organised by the Institute of High Energy Physics (IFAE) in different places on the campus from 16 to 20 July 2018. Total number of people attending: 100.
