Participation in European and Horizon 2020 projects

The Fundació Salut i Envelliment UAB actively participates in the European projects set up through the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation - Horizon 2020 with the respective framework programmes, as well as other European competitions.

Currently, the foundation is working on the following projects:

 

  • SITLESS. Exercise Referral Schemes enhanced by Self-Management Strategies to battle sedentary behaviour.
  • NESTORE. Novel Empowering Solutions and Technologies for Older people to Retain Everyday life activities.
  • [Pending decision] APTITUDE. Agir pour la Prévention Transpyrénéenne de la Dépendance chez les séniors.


Knowledge transfer networks

Over the past academic year, the foundation has formed part of the organisers of the International Conference on Frailty and Sarcopenia Research (ICFSR) 2017, sponsored in collaboration with the Toulouse Gérontopôle, in Toulouse, France, and the Tufts University of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Professional exchanges

The foundation regularly receives professionals to spend periods of mutual enrichment and professional exchange. In 2016 a lecturer in social sciences from Busan University in Korea spent a year at the foundation. In 2018 a visitor from Bello Horizonte University in Brazil is expected and in 2017 a course and exchange was organised with the University of Tomsk, Russia. 

Collaborations with international teams

The foundation is currently collaborating actively with the research group of the IMSS, Mexico City, with which it has recently authored several articles.

Training: Doctor Robert School

The Foundation for Health and Ageing also strives to continue broadening its presence in international training activities such as the Master’s degree in Systemic Coaching offered Colombia and Peru and the presence of students from around the world on its own premises, such as the Master’s degree in Transfusional Medicine.
