PhD in Politics, Policies and International Relations
The general objective of the PhD in Political Science, Public Policies and International Relations is to train students as researchers with a high level of knowledge and analytical capacity that can be applied in an academic or professional career at international level.
This PhD programme for the first time brings three previous programmes together that follow quite different paths and offer a significant balance to the research and doctoral theses presented. These programmes are the PhDs in Politics, Public Policies and International Relations and European Integration.
In line with international trends in this area the articulation and integration that we present here aim to constitute a leap of quality and academic rigour, bringing together researchers who are highly accredited in their respective fields. The benefits for students of the PhD are clear both in terms of an undoubted rise in quality and quantity and the potential that this crossover of perspectives and topics can offer.
Today the programme offers a very high international projection that has come from its past pathway and its present strength and capacity, reinforced and extended by this integration. That projection is reflected in the profile of the students and their high rates of mobility.
Similarly the research activities carried out by researchers involved in the programme have international level networks and academic collaborations that contribute to a stimulating environment for our students. The emphasis of the programme is on training and research in English and so students who do not know Spanish or Catalan can follow the programme.
This programme includes agreements for cotuition with the University of Geneva (Switzerland), the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and the University of Montpellier (France).
