Before the deadline established by the PhD Academic Committee (CAPD), and no later than one year from the date of enrolment, the doctoral student, with the assistance of their thesis supervisor and academic tutor, must prepare a personal training plan. This plan includes a scheduled forecast of the various training activities to be taken during the doctoral studies, such as courses, seminars, or mobility actions, which are recorded in the activity document. The plan must include, at least, the mandatory activities established in the programme’s official documentation, as well as optional ones, and in the case of the international research component, those specified in Article 341.4. The personal training plan must be endorsed by the thesis supervisor and the academic tutor.
The CAPD evaluates and approves, if applicable, the personal training plan, that may be improved and further detailed throughout the development of the thesis.
The activities document (DAC) is your individualized record of the training activities linked to the doctoral training plan, accessible through the UAB intranet (Doctoral students: research plan and activities).
The mandatory activities are automatically included in the activities document of your individual register, but the optional activities need to be added to it, as indicated by the programme's coordinator or administration.
The type and the number of activities may subsequently be modified, by following this procedure: the changes must be endorsed by the thesis supervisor and the thesis tutor and approved by the PhD programme coordinators, and they must be recorded in the activities document of your individual register.
To receive a passing grade for these training activities, present the corresponding certificates to your thesis supervisor and, where appropriate, follow the instructions of the programme's coordinator or administrative support staff on adding the certificates to the activities document.
Since one of the prerequisites for depositing doctoral theses, as established by the doctoral programme’s academic committee, is to have completed all the activities in the activities document, you should make sure that these are all duly recorded as having been taken in this document.
