3. LEGALISATIONS
Legalisation of the electronic academic transcript for the studies you completed leading to the award of a doctoral degree
Once you have the signed certificate, you must send it by email to the following email address: legalizaciones.cat@correo.gob.es prior to the date of the scheduled appointment, so that the Higher Inspectorate of Education in the Ministry of Universities can verify its authenticity. To avoid unnecessary travel, we recommend that you do not make an appointment until the Higher Inspectorate of Education has confirmed that the document sent by email is correct. On the day of the appointment, you will need to bring a printed copy of the certificate, since it will be rubber stamped to legalise it.
If you live abroad (including Andorra), you do not need to physically go to the Higher Inspectorate of Education in Barcelona for the signature recognition procedure. This procedure with the Ministry of Universities can be carried out at Spanish embassies and consulates.
Legalisation of your academic certificate (studies that are not complete or are currently in progress)
If you have not completed your studies and you need to legalise an academic certificate stating what you have studied at the UAB so far, you must apply for a personal academic certificate with a handwritten signature provided by the registrar for your faculty or school. You can apply in person by appointment or through the UAB electronic registry (using a generic application). This certificate with a handwritten signature can only be issued in Catalan or Spanish.
To legalise your certificate with a handwritten signature you will have to visit the office of the Notary Public indicated below:
