The COMTEC Centre was inaugurated on March 25 on the second floor of the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives.

The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Research and Transference, Armand Sánchez, the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Studies, Maria José Recoder, the director of the Library Service, Núria Casaldàliga and the Vice-Dean of Teaching, Teaching Staff and Students, Carmina Crusafon.

The Vice-Dean of Communication and UAB Campus Mèdia, Carles Llorens and Tomàs Fabregat, Head of the Library, showed attendees the possibilities of the space and its facilities. The COMTEC Centre will be the heart of the eponymous project, the Faculty’s strategy for this decade that aims to foster digital knowledge and talent in the field of communication.

The centre is an open space with three distinct functions: there is an experiment area with a chroma; the agora, with a stand; and the creation-coworking area, with an interactive screen. The centre is open to teaching and research uses as well as non-teaching uses such as training, presentations, workshops, coworking or institutional events.

For more information, visit the web page of the COMTEC Centre  [available in Catalan and Spanish] and read the terms of use [in Catalan].
