The UAB Digital Document Repository has a new unique personal collection, that of playwright, journalist and translator Lluís Capdevila i Vilallonga. The digitization that covers a significant part of its fund has been possible thanks to the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Digitized documents constitute an exceptional historical treasure. It consists of manuscripts and typescripts written by Capdevila himself between 1923 and 1977, some are drafts of published works but others remain unpublished. It is particularly notable for its wealth of theatrical works.

We cite, for example, plays such as the Christmas Carol in wartime and Levantine: prints of a life; poetry, such as Ode to the Olive Tree and Elegy with a triumphal march rhythm; prose, such as Claror de la mare. Elegy [sic] .

Also, drafts of articles, notes and outlines of conferences and his diaries from exile, among others, have been digitized.

The Capdevila fund, given by Carles Capdevila Mur, son of the writer, was donated to the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2014 and deposited in the Humanities Library. The historical significance and uniqueness of this collection lie in the outstanding figure of the character, an individual capable of excelling in a wide variety of disciplines and facing all challenges.
