Qualification of the thesis and TESEO

  • The examination panel will issue an overall grade for the thesis.
  • The range of grades is: no apte (F), apte (C), notable (B), excel·lent (A).
  • Where a grade of excel·lent (A) is obtained, the panel will meet in private in a new session to decide whether to recommend the award of Cum Laude, in a secret and anonymous vote.
  • When the Panel Secretary sends the School for Doctoral Studies the documents for your defence, in a minimum of eight days the School for Doctoral Studies will confirm your result.
  • Once you have received a grade for your thesis, you can consult it on your academic transcript at https://sia.uab.es/ selecting the section ‘Access you academic record’.

When the Doctoral School has entered the qualification in your file, you will recive  an email informing you that you can now apply for the certificate.

Remember that if you are a foreign PhD student and you do not have a NIE, you must send the Doctoral School a authenticated copy, according to the instructions on the Official Certificates (PhD) website.

In the event that the court considers the convenience of adding an erratum to the thesis, it will be necessary that:

  • The secretary or the president of the examination panel, once the thesis has been defended, send the report on the advisability of making an errata in the PhD thesis together with the certificate of the defence of the thesis and the rest of the documentation.
  • The interested person will have a maximum of 15 days after the defence to present it to the secretary or president of the examination panel. This errata certificate (in writing) must also be signed by the PhD student and their directors.
  • The secretary or the president will sign it and send it to the Doctoral School within a maximum of 20 days after the defence.
