Academic Requirements
Applying to our Master’s programmes and diplomas is a clear process, and we will guide you step by step.
Below you’ll find all the information you need to prepare your application.
Before preparing your documentation, make sure you meet the following entry requirements:
You must hold an official bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
(minimum 180 ECTS or 3 academic years)
Some programmes may require additional criteria such as language level, professional experience or specific knowledge.
5% of places are reserved for applicants with:
- a disability ≥33%
- specific educational needs
(Organic Law 2/2023, art. 31.4)
Some specialised diplomas may allow admission if you can demonstrate professional experience equivalent to bachelor’s level.
This is an exceptional pathway and requires specific validation.
Below you will find the documentation you need to prepare to complete your application:
A VALID ID document (ID card, NIE or passport)
To prepare your documentation, make sure it meets ONE of the following verification options:
- digitally verifiable (CSV or QR code)
- certified copy
- or original presented in person (the School will issue an official certified copy)
Identify your case based on where you obtained your degree to determine which documents you need:
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
No documents need to be provided
The School will verify your qualification directly
You must provide one of the following:
- Degree + academic transcript
- or Diploma Supplement
These documents must meet verification requirements

Check whether your documents are in an accepted language or need translation:
Accepted languages: Catalan, Spanish or English
Documents in French, Italian or Portuguese

Once your documentation is ready, these are the valid ways to submit it:
If your documents are digitally verifiable → they are considered valid
If not, you will need to submit them within a maximum of 3 months
Simple copies or scanned documents are not accepted as final documentation
Never submit your original university diploma under any circumstances. This involves a real risk of loss and the School will not return it by post
You have 3 months to submit your final documentation

If you need a visa to study in Spain, take into account the following steps and recommendations before starting the process:
Start the process as early as possible
- processing times can be very long
- procedures depend on the consulate or embassy
- you will need validated documentation
- if you need an admission letter for your visa, you must request it from the programme director
Check with the Spanish consulate or embassy in your country
They will support you before and during your stay so that the process is clear and smooth:
- visas and residence
- documentation
- arrival and settling in
- integration into UAB life
If you completed your studies outside Spain, this will be your main point of contact from the very beginning

Yes, on a provisional basis
However, you must submit the official documents within a maximum of 3 months
What is a certified copy?
It is a copy of the original document officially validated by a recognised authority (notary, university or public body)
How do I know if my country requires an apostille or legalisation?
What happens if I send my original university diploma?
Do not do it. It involves a risk of loss and the School will not return it by post
What do I need to submit in my case?
Quick summary:
