Academic Requirements
These general academic requirements refer to the academic degrees that make you eligible for admission.
Each programme has different admission requirements set according to the criteria established by the programme director and may include a CV, a personal interview, a personal statement explaining your motivation, etc. Please, review the Master’s Degrees and Graduate Diplomas’ online catalogue. In each programme’s website you fill find an online request form through which you can contact directly the programme’s coordination with any inquiries and questions.
To be considered an eligible candidate in good standing for admission to a graduate programme, you must hold a bachelor's degree or comparable (if still pending, consult the section ''Pending Degree'', which is more down below in the same drop-down menu), i.e.:
- A university degree equivalent to an EHEA undergraduate qualification (minimum 180 ECTS credits), or
- A bachelor, associate or engineering degree awarded prior to the implementation of the EHEA (minimum 3 academic years)
Documents you must submit on paper:
- Copy of your DNI.
- Certified copy of your university degree or receipt of degree awarded. You may bring us the original and a copy, and we will certify it for you.
Many programmes allow the online admission when providing this scanned documentation. If you obtain admission and enrol, you will need to send your certified documents by postal mail or to come in person with the certified documentation, or with the original one (in which case we will certify it for you). You can do it at the User Support Office, Graduate School.

- An EHEA undergraduate degree (minimum 180 ECTS credits), or
- A degree equivalent to a Spanish bachelor, associate or engineering degree earned prior to the implementation of the EHEA (minimum 3 academic years)
Documents you must submit on paper:
- Copy of your DNI, TIE or passport
- Certified copy of your official university degree, issued by the competent authorities. You may bring us the original and a copy, and we will certify it for you.
- Certified copy of your official transcript, issued by the competent authorities, listing the period in academic years, subjects taken, credits earned and grades obtained. You may bring us the original and a copy, and we will certify it for you.
- All documentation issued in Catalan, Spanish or English is accepted. Regarding the documentation issued in French, Italian or Portuguese, the translation may be filed through the UAB Language Service. The interested person should take over management and expenses entailed. In all other cases, it is necessary to attach the translation into Catalan, Spanish or English, made by a sworn translator, or by a diplomatic or consular representation of the Spanish State abroad, or by the diplomatic or consult representation in Spain of the country which the applicant is a national.
If you are a foreign student taking courses on campus, you must also submit a copy of your TIE. If you have not obtained it yet by the time of registration, please submit it as soon as you get it.

More information about validating academic documents:
You must submit your university degree duly validated or legalized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. Validation of a documents is based on the agreement subscribed between Spain and the issuing country:
- Countries which have subscribed The Hague Convention: all you need is for the documents to bear the Apostille of The Hague.
The Hague Convention Member Countries
- All other countries: the documents must be stamped by all three:
- Ministry of Education of the issuing country
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country
- Spanish diplomatic authorities to that country (embassy, consulate, etc.)
If you still do not have your university degree (or comparable) but you plan to obtain it before the beginning of the UAB master's degree or graduate diploma you want to make, you can apply online now.
In order to do so, you will have to complete and sign the document for application without degree to the type of study you want to enrol in. Once you have completed and signed it, digitize it and be ready to upload it when doing the online application, in the section where the online application tool asks for the degree title.
- If you plan to enrol in a master’s degree:
To apply for admission to a master’s degree, follow the instructions you will find in the "Admission" section of the master’s degree’s website. Upload the following document, filled, signed and digitalized, when you are asked for the degree title in the online application tool:
Application form for admission with pending degree title: master’s degree. - Failure to submit the degree title (prior to the start of the programme) will cause you to not be able to enrol in the master’s degree and your place will be lost.
If you plan to enrol in a graduate diploma: - To apply for admission to a graduate diploma, follow the instructions you will find in the "Admission" section of the diploma’s website. Upload the following document, filled, signed and digitalized, when you are asked for the degree title in the online application tool:

In case you fail to submit the degree title (prior to the start of the programme) you will still be able to enrol in the graduate diploma, but at the end of it you will be entitled to a certificate of achievement, not a title.
Please be reminded: you must submit the degree title or proof of payment before the start of the programme you choose and apply for. Do so at the User Support Office.
People who do not have a university degree or equivalent, but who will obtain it before the start of the course, can enrol and apply for Conditional Admission by attaching the following document. If the teaching of the course has started and the student has not obtained the university degree, he/she will not be able to enrol.
Conditional Admission Application
Exceptionally, in some specialisation diplomas and expert diplomas, access may be authorised for people without a university degree who can accredit professional experience with a level of competence equivalent to the university degree, by a procedure for the recognition of professional experience. In these cases, you will find the access requirements in the file for each of the lifelong learning programmes published on our website.
