The UAB’s search engine offers a user new experience thanks to Syndetics Unbound
The Library Service has implemented Syndetic Unbound in the UAB’s search engine in order to offer an enriched search experience to UAB users, with additional information, suggestions and interaction tools.

The Library Service has implemented Syndetic Unbound in the UAB’s search engine in order to offer an enriched search experience to UAB users, with additional information, suggestions and interaction tools.
Until now the UAB search engine retrieved book’s summaries and cover pages in English, Catalan and Spanish from the Syndetics provider. From now on and thanks to an agreement with CSUC, the UAB Library Service has signed for a fuller version of this product: Syndetics Unbound, already set up on UAB catalogue. As well as covers, tables of content and summaries, the search engine also provides:
- Author’s biographic information
- Other works by the same author in UAB catalogue.
- Similar or Related Works from other authors
- Reviewers’ and readers’ reviews
- Alternative versions of the searched work available in UAB catalogue.
- Tag cloud defining the work.
- Work’s awards
- Visual bookshelf
The search engine also provides now user interaction tools that allow them to add comments, scoring works, or browsing through tags.
