The Science and Technology Library is launching a project on small publishers who publish works on scientific dissemination

24/02/2020

At the Science and Technology Library we are interested in science. And publishing projects that focus on quality content when producing their books, with the final reader in mind.

Following the initiative of libraries such as El Clot-Josep Benet who are launching their project Center of interest: Small publishers, large projects, the BCT has also committed to giving the shop windows to those small, little-known publishing houses that are rigorous with the scientific edition, as in the case of our first guest: EILA Editores.

From this publishing house located in Madrid, and in collaboration with the Association Matritense de Mujeres Universitarias (AMMU), the collection Biografías de mujeres is published, on those women who have been throughout history, a reference in several fields of knowledge. Names like Virginia Woolf, María Zambrano, Aparna Sen, Marie Luise Kaschnitz or Margarita Salas, Emmy Noether, Barbara McClintock, Hypatia are among its titles.

As this collection of EILA Editores only includes women scientists, it is a good complement to the exhibition "Càtedra amb nom de dona".

The collections of EILA Editores will remain in the Library until March 27th. We hope that our initiative is also of interest to you.
