Health Program

        Promoting health from a holistic perspective, especially regarding diet, routines and personal and sexual relations 

       
        2 hours per week, mornings and/or afternoons during the academic year.

       
        Aimed at students of the UAB

       
        Campaigns and actions on specific occasions; taking part in workshops, talks and training courses; Xiringu roving helpdesk

As a UAB student you can train to become a campus health educator.  Your job will be to promote health, in particular, healthy attitudes to diet, drugs, sex and personal relations, through campaigns and actions on specific occasions or by taking part in the Xiringu de Salut roving helpdesk on health.

The Xiringu is a roving helpdesk offering information, guidance and debate on issues of health-promotion and prevention of unhealthy habits and behaviours, where you can put your knowledge and skills into practice as a health educator.

What will i be doing with the Xiringu?
  • Giving advice and information to your peers.
  • Handing out leaflets.
  • Handing out contraceptives and other materials.

WHO IS IT FOR?
It's for everyone on campus, especially UAB students.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
You'll be at your most dynamic, creative and engaged, so as to mix with campus-goers and get your message across. You'll be a UAB health educator, able to offer information and advice about sex and personal relations, drugs, STDs, diet, risk prevention, etc.

WHEN AND WHERE?
2 hours per week, minimum, mornings and/or afternoons during the academic year (depending on availability), always on the UAB campus.
