Welcome Refugee Programme

  • Social Mentoring project with young people seeking asylum in Spain.
  • Offering social and linguistic support through one-to-one meetings to a young person looking for refuge and living on the UAB Campus. Participation in one-to-one and group meetings, follow-up and guidance by the Acollida support team.
  • Trainings in interculturality, human rights and antiracism. Learning about migrations, forced displacement and the asylum and international protection system in Europe and Spain.
  • Flexible Volunteer schedule depending on your availability. From 2 to 3 hours per week, participation commitment for at least 6 months.

In a global context marked by the continuing violation of rights suffered by persons seeking refuge, the Acollida Program is aimed at contributing to the full inclusion of persons seeking international protection through the involvement of the UAB community through the development of reception and accompaniment actions, as well as through raising awareness and mobilising citizens.

What will you do?

Participate in a Social Mentoring project with young people seeking asylum in Spain.

Be a mentor by offering social and linguistic support through one-to-one meetings to a young person looking for refuge and living on the UAB Campus.

Learn about migrations, forced displacement, and the asylum system.

Participate in workshops on antiracism, interculturality, and human rights.

UAB Hosting program of FAS coordinates the volunteering project.

As a mentor, you will always receive support from the organization.
