Fall 2020 Online

The Pre-Established Fall Online Programme is specially designed to offer international students a unique learning experience with the academic quality of a traditional Study Abroad UAB programme.

  • Modality: Online.
  • Course dates: October 5th to December 18th 2020. Local holidays with no classes: October 12th and December 8th.
  • Class Size: Minimum 10, maximum 30 students.
  • Student study load: 9 hours per week per elective.
  • Minimum number of credits: 6 ECTS (3 US).
  • Maximum number of credits: 12 ECTS (6 US). 
  • Price: 1 subject 950 €. 2 subjects 1.590 €.
  • Registration: 13th July to 21st September 2020.
  • Cancellation deadline: 21st September 2020.

A flexible and convenient way to earn credit hours, gain knowledge and get a taste of the UAB Study Abroad programme.

Choose 1 or 2 subjects

You can take electives in English and/or Spanish (level B2). Our programme has been completely overhauled to adapt to and maximise the proven benefits of distance learning. The courses include content which aims to give you meaningful insight into local perspectives, practice and culture.

Learn new soft skills

Through engaging with appropriate online material, fellow international students and local professors, you will learn new soft skills like successful team building, time management and effective intercultural communication skills.

Clear study plan

Divided into short units with clear learning objectives and time organisation via the course calendar. The methodology includes teacher-led classes, presentations, videos, group projects, debates, guest speakers and more.

Structure

Welcome and introduction session to get to know the learning community and a tour of the virtual campus.

Introduction to intercultural perspectives with emphasis on Spain and Europe.

Methodology

The teaching and learning methodology is varied according to the different subjects. It includes:

  • Teacher-led classes (streamed and recorded)
  • Narrated presentations
  • Short videos for demonstrations or presenting concepts
  • Group work in break-out rooms
  • Debates
  • Individual or group projects
  • Self-study
  • Question and answer sessions
  • Tutorials
  • Interesting guest speakers to complement the instructors’ content through live sessions where students will be able to interact with local or international experts.
  • Two streamed class sessions timetabled every week (from 5 pm CET). The classes will be recorded and available to students unable to be present in the live sessions.
  • Continuous assessment in each unit. Assessment comprises quizzes, essays, presentations etc., and can also include self-assessment and /or peer assessment.

Certification

Standard UAB certificate issued on successful completion.

Academic requirements

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree at your university, and have completed at least 2 semesters before applying to this programme. 
  • A minimum GPA of 2,75 (or equivalent).

Language level requirements

  • For subjects taught in English: B2 level certificate (or equivalent). 
  • For subjects taught in Spanish level: B1 level certificate (or equivalent).
