"The men we want to be": A workshop to rethink masculinities at the UAB
What role can men play in the fight against gender-based violence? To move towards a more intersectional, feminist and inclusive space, the commitment of men in the university community is key.
On 21 October and 18 November, the UAB's Equality and Diversity Service will offer two free workshops of two hours each aimed at men (students, teaching and research staff and technical, management, administrative and service staff) who want to reflect on the role of masculinities in nowadays society.
Through a multidisciplinary methodology that takes awareness as its central axis, it will explore how social and power dynamics shape male experiences, how to combat them and how to assume individual responsibility to transform them.
These sessions are promoted by the Fil a l'Agulla association and will be independent. This allows each participant to freely register for a single session or both, depending on their interest and availability.
Likewise, certificates of attendance for each session will be delivered and, if requested, there is the possibility of doing individual in-depth sessions later.
