Action Plans
UAB Action Plans: Commitment to Equality and Inclusion
At the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Action Plans are detailed strategies that define a set of organised measures regarding gender equality and disability. The development of these plans is based on diagnostic studies, revision of the legal framework and other action plans, both national and international.
What are Action Plans?
Action Plans are a set of measures that are adopted in order to tackle specific problems that have been identified through deep analysis. At the UAB, these plans aim especially to promote gender equality and the inclusion of people with disabilities. These measures are distributed according to objectives or policy areas and for each action, the following are defined:
- Implementation Period: It can be annual, permanent or isolated.
- Instruments for the application: Tools and resources to implement said measures.
- Responsible Entities: University departments or teams in charge of carrying out the actions.
The Equality and Diversity Service’s role
The Equality and Diversity Service is the unit that develops the proposals for action plans for equality, diversity and inclusion. Since its beginning, it has created five gender equality plans and two plans addressing people with disabilities. It is also the entity in charge of promoting, following up on and evaluating the degree of implementation of the action plans.
