The UAB acknowledges de best Bachelor's Degree Final Projects with a Gender Perspective

Next Tuesday, May 6th, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will perform the award ceremony of the Prizes to the Best Bachelor's Degree Final Projects (TFG) with a Gender Perspective corresponding to the 2023-2024 school year. The event will take place at the Central Administration and Executive Building's Auditorium at 12pm (noon), and it will include the authors of the awarded projects, their families, the tutors and different scholars. Attendance should be notified by signing up through this form.

The awards, in their ninth edition this year, are announced annually by the Equality and Diversity Service of the UAB, with support and financing of the Catalan Women's Institute (ICD). The main objective of this endeavor is to encourage university research with a critical and inclusive perspective, thus promoting the implementation of the gender perspective in academic analysis and knowledge production.

The ceremony will be chaired by the Secretary General of the UAB, Esther Zapater. Through it, we will publicly acknowledge the effort and quality of the 30 awarded projects, from different faculties and subjects. The faculties with more presence this edition are the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Communication Studies, all of which are particularly involved in research with a gender perspective. It will also feature Sònia Guerra, head of the Catalan Women's Institute.

The authors of the awarded TFG will receive a diploma issued by the UAB's Equality and Diversity Service and a special token, courtesy of the ICD's sponsorship.

These awards entail the acknowledgement of students' talent and commitment, but they also play a part in the institution's strategy to advance towards a university that is equitable, fair and aware of gender inequality. Through them, the UAB reinforces its wilfulness to transform knowledge into a tool for social justice and equality, consolidating the gender perspective as a key point in teaching, research and university life.

With this act, the UAB reaffirms its commitment to gender equality and celebrates the work of students that contribute, from their subject disciplines, to creating a society that is more inclusive and critical of structural discrimination.
