UAB Community Choir: Registration Open

Registration for the UAB Community Choir is open until 15 February. This is an innovative experience that began last semester. It is a community choir aimed at UAB teaching and research staff (PDI) and technical, management and administrative and service staff (PTGAS), and it forms part of the project “Art and Well-being at the University” (BENES 00024, AGAUR). This project aims to demonstrate, through research, how collective singing can improve personal and social well-being, reduce stress, and strengthen the bonds among members of the university community.

This second edition consists of eight sessions and a concert during the second semester. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesdays: 18 and 25 February; 4, 11, 18 and 25 March; and 8 and 15 April, from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Education Sciences. The final performance will be held on Thursday, 16 April, at the UAB Theatre Hall, as part of the Healthy and Sustainable Week.

At each rehearsal, participants work on voice and body, sing as a group, and create a meeting space that encourages switching off, creativity, and relationships with others.
