Workshop Masculinity and Youths: What Can Men Do Against Male Violence?

The main goal of this workshop is male involvement in gender equality and against gender-based violence. We consider essential to work on masculinity with young men, taking issue with its negative consequences on relationships, gender inequality and, thus, in relation to misogynistic violence. We aim to offer a space to reflect and dialogue that trascends the school year, challenging all the other men at the university.  

The programme tackles the following topics: what are masculinities? What consequences and costs to masculinities carry? How can men and boys change and which challenges does that pose? How can they get involved and get other men involved in acquiring equality and non-violence? Developing proposals and ideas aimed at men of the university community.  

• Schedule: 4, 11, 18 and 25 of February.
• Time: From 15:00 to 18:00
• Place: Building: School of Continuing Education, Classroom 2.
• Price: Free
• Total hours: 50 hours
• ECTS Credits: 2 ECTS credits in activities with academic recognition (for Bachelor’s degrees)
• Limited attendance: 25 people.
