Understanding Europe, Understanding the World

By focussing on the study of the world, this track aims at deepening one’s understanding of the world through the analysis of history, economy and politics of Western societies in the post-colonial era. Students will be able to relate self-centred views of the West to a more universal perspective of social, political and economic organisation.

Teaching period: 2nd semester (8/2/2027 – 2/07/2027)

  • Student profile: 

This International Track (IT) is addressed to students (from other universities) from all bachelor's degrees interested in complementing their basic training with a selection of specific subjects in matters related to international politics. 
No previous knowledge in this field is needed to enroll in the IT. The final decision will be made by the academic coordinator of the programme.

Academic Coordination

Places offer

Every year, 5 new places are offered on this International Track.

Requirements 

Students for whom English is not their mother language, a level of C1 (Common European Framework of Reference) is required. 

Students must have completed the 60ECTS at the home university, which equals the first year of the bachelor's degree studies.The final decision will be made by the academic coordinator of the programme.

Selection criteria
The academic coordination will assess the candidates according to the admission requirements, taking into account the documentation delivered and the adequacy and qualifications of the academic transcript. The academic coordination of the IT will resolve the applications for admission.      

Price
The price of the IT credit will be that set by the UAB Social Council for Visiting Students. 

Implementation course
The UAB will offer this IT, with the modifications that are collected, from the 2025/26 academic year.
