European_Governance

The itinerary is ideal for students with a strong interest in fundamental rights, democratic participation and comparative analysis, and who are motivated to engage critically with European and international legal frameworks. Teaching period: 2nd semester (8/2/2027 – 2/07/2027)

The International Track European Governance, Human Rights & Comparative Criminology provides the student with an in-depth understanding of governance structures, human rights protection and comparative approaches to crime and justice, with a special focus on the European context. The itinerary combines legal, criminological and socio-political perspectives to analyze how institutions, norms and policies address some of the most urgent challenges facing contemporary societies.

Through subjects such as Crimes Against Humanity & Human Rights, Gender & Law, Comparative Criminology and Public Participation in EU Institutions, the student examines the protection of fundamental rights, gender equality and legal frameworks, transnational patterns of criminality and criminal justice systems, as well as democratic participation within the institutions of the European Union. The itinerary promotes critical analysis, comparative reasoning and understanding of multilevel governance, and prepares students to participate in complex legal and political debates at both European and international level.

  • Student Profile

This international itinerary is designed for students from other universities interested in European governance, human rights protection, gender equality and comparative criminology from an interdisciplinary and international perspective. It is especially suitable for those who want to understand how legal systems, public institutions and criminological approaches interact in different countries and levels of governance.
