Criminology, Ethics & Environmental Governance

The itinerary is ideal for students interested in comparative approaches, ethical dilemmas and regulatory frameworks, who want to develop analytical, research and communication skills in English. It is especially recommended for those who consider careers or advanced studies in criminology, law, public policies, environmental governance, international organizations or academic research.
Teaching period: 1st semester (9/9/2026 – 5/02/2027)
The International Track Criminology, Ethics & Environmental Governance offers an interdisciplinary perspective on the main global challenges related to crime, punishment, ethical decision making and environmental protection. This itinerary is designed to provide students with a solid theoretical basis and analytical skills to understand complex social, legal and ethical problems in an international context.
Through subjects such as Bioethics, Comparative Penology, Environmental Law and Criminological Language, students analyze the ethical dimensions of scientific and technological progress, criminal systems from a comparative perspective, the legal frameworks of environmental governance and the development of communicative skills specialized in criminology. The itinerary encourages critical thinking, comparative analysis and the integration of ethical and legal perspectives, preparing students for professional or academic careers in criminology, law, public policies, environmental governance and related fields, both nationally and internationally.

This International Track is aimed at students from other universities with an interest in criminology, ethics, law and environmental governance from an interdisciplinary and international perspective. It is especially suitable for students motivated to critically analyze contemporary social, legal and ethical challenges related to crime, punishment, scientific progress and environmental protection.

Places offer
Every year, 5 new places are offered on this International Track.
This international track is especially for students with master's degree in law, or students who have passed 180 ECTS credits or are in the final year of a bachelor's degree including subjects covering law, political science or international relations. The final selection decision will be made by the programme coordinator.
The academic coordination will assess the candidates according to the admission requirements, taking into account the documentation delivered and the adequacy and qualifications of the academic transcript. The academic coordination of the IT will resolve the applications for admission.
Price
The price of the IT credit will be that set by the UAB Social Council for Visiting Students.
Implantation course
The UAB will offer this IT programme starting in the 2026/27 academic year.
