We are launching our "Lunch with books at the iHC" series with a session dedicated to La materia no existe: Miquel Masriera y la cultura científica del s. XX (Marcial Pons, 2026)—a work by iHC researcher Agustí Nieto-Galan that delves into the complexities of the political, scientific, social and cultural tensions of the 20th century.

The presentation will feature Eduard Aibar (UOC), member of the MUSSOL research group (focused on philosophy for contemporary challenges) and president of the Catalan Association for Science and Technology Studies (STS-CAT). Aibar will join Nieto-Galan for a conversation about the history and creation of this book, which stems from extensive research into the life of chemist and science communicator Miquel Masriera Rubio (1901–1981). The session will conclude with an open Q&A with the audience.

Further information about the book and interviews with the author.

Please feel free to bring your own lunch; the event will follow a "lunch-seminar" format—rigorous, yet informal.
