UAB Proof of Concept call (PoC2026)
The UAB 2026 PoC call is an internal instrument of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) for funding and supporting development projects that involve pre-commercial valorization activities of research results, aimed at transferring these results to the productive sector and generating a real impact on society. The ultimate objective of the call is to grant aid to accelerate the knowledge transfer process of UAB research groups through studies that enable progress in project maturation.
DESCRIPTION
Call terms and conditions
The total amount allocated to this grant is €200,000.
Target audience
Beneficiaries of this call can be projects based on UAB research results in the fields of experimental and technological sciences that aim to mature these results in order to bring them closer to society or the productive sector.
Projects will not be eligible if:

At least one Principal Investigator (PI) of the project is not a UAB researcher or, in the case of affiliation with other centers, does not have at least a 50% affiliation with the UAB.

The research results to be valued in this call are not more than 50% owned by the UAB.

The deadline for submitting applications ends on 20/11/2026 at 2:00 PM.
APPLICATION
The application must be submitted in Catalan, Spanish, or English, including an executive summary in Catalan, by the project's Principal Investigator through the application form, attaching the provided annex template and specifying the challenge being addressed.
The application must include the technical report, the work plan, and the project budget.
Once the application is completed, save it in PDF format and sign it electronically. You can check the digital certificates recognized by the UAB on the e-Office website.
These documents (the application form, the technical report, the work plan, and the project budget) must be submitted to the UAB Electronic Registry.
RESOLUTION
The Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship will issue the provisional resolution of the grants. This will be published on the UAB website and communicated to the beneficiaries. The deadline set to resolve the call is 30 calendar days from the closing date of the call.
Beneficiaries must communicate their acceptance within 5 calendar days from the publication of the provisional resolution. Acceptance of the grant will be formalized by signing an acceptance letter by the project's Principal Investigator, undertaking to comply with all conditions set out in the regulatory bases of this call.
It is understood that researchers who have not submitted the acceptance document within the established deadline tacitly waive the grant.
The Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship will issue the final resolution of the grants.
GRANT JUSTIFICATION
Within two months after the completion of the grant, you must submit a scientific-financial report.
Fill in the report provided below, save it in PDF format, sign it electronically, and submit it through the UAB Electronic Registry.

Projects will not be eligible if:

At least one Principal Investigator (PI) of the project is not a UAB researcher or, in the case of affiliation with other centers, does not have at least a 50% affiliation with the UAB.

The research results to be valued in this call are not more than 50% owned by the UAB.

They fall outside the strategic priorities of the Spanish State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024-2027.
