The FAS supports an initiative led by Estefanía Pomajambo, a student in the Master's degree in the History of Science

The UAB Solidarity Fund has announced the results of its 2025-2026 calls for proposals, awarding a total of 19 projects to promote global justice. This year, eight proposals led by master's and doctoral students were selected. These projects will be carried out in collaboration with universities, organizations, and communities in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, India, Mexico, Mozambique, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, and Chile. The main themes addressed were gender justice, ecology, community health, and religious diversity.

One of the winning projects in the student category is "Voces feministas en STEM: Fortalecimiento de la memoria colectiva de una organización feminista universitaria de ciencias e ingenierías en la UNI (Lima, Perú)" ("Feminist Voices in STEM: Strengthening the collective memory of a feminist university organization of science and engineering at UNI (Lima, Peru)"), a proposal led by the Master's student in History of Science Estefanía Pomajambo Figueroa and directed by Mònica Balltondre, researcher at iHC.

This initiative is part of the gender-focused research being conducted at the iHC and involves preserving the historical memory and strengthening the organizational capacity of the UNIdas collective, a group founded in 2017 by feminist students in STEM disciplines at the National University of Engineering (Lima, Peru) to combat gender-based violence against female students and advocate for the implementation of gender equality policies at the university. Through a co-creation process, the collective's history will be reconstructed and analyzed, and a set of strategies will be developed using oral history methodologies, primary source analysis, and document triangulation. The project will be carried out adhering to environmental justice criteria regarding materials and transportation, and will culminate in the creation of a systematization document that will serve as a resource for the collective's institutional memory and organizational strengthening.
