Yago Ramis Laloux presents the latest HENAC project findings on sports mental health
The IRE researcher participated in the international congress, showcasing a study on the junior-to-senior transition and leading global institutional dialogue.
The study led by Yago Ramis reveals the critical impact of perfectionism on the mental health of young athletes during their transition periods.
As part of the HENAC project, Yago Ramis Laloux presented the scientific poster titled “Tomorrow never knows: Tracking irrational beliefs, perfectionism and mental health across the junior-to-senior transition.” This research examines how irrational beliefs and perfectionism evolve in athletes during the challenging transition to the senior category, providing essential data for protecting their mental well-being.
In addition to the technical presentation, Ramis served as a discussant in the MEntis symposium, which focused on promoting mental health through the entourage of high-performance athletes. In this high-level session, he engaged in discussions with leading experts such as Paul Wylleman, Chris Harwood, Cecilia Akesdotter, and Goran Kentta, exploring the roles of coaches and families.
His participation included a key diplomatic component, representing the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC) in his capacity as Vice President. During the congress, Ramis held strategic meetings with the World Association (ISSP) and the Asian Association (ASPASP) to strengthen the collaborative network and institutional synergies within international sport psychology.
