The international academic journal on Olympic studies releases its eighth volume, analyzing the convergence between esports' technological innovation and the legacy of the Olympic movement.

Cartell volumen 8

This volum analyzes Esports as a bridge between Olympic heritage and technological innovation.

Volume 8 of Diagoras explores the complexity of the Olympic Esports Games (OEG), a dynamic ecosystem striving to balance sustainability with the popularity of new disciplines. Through various research papers, it examines how initiatives like the Olympic Virtual Series and the Olympic Esports Series promote a competitive framework where digital gaming culture and hypermodern sport values coexist.

The featured texts address fundamental challenges such as governance, player well-being, and the inclusion of people with disabilities, highlighting the need for a peripheral vision in Olympic education. The volume delves into the role of developers and the importance of out-of-game rules that codify competition, transforming the experience for both spectators and practitioners within a hybrid reality.

Lastly, the publication invites sports leaders to reflect on their role as connectors between tradition and innovation, utilizing tools like artificial intelligence to foster fair play and solidarity in an increasingly digitalized global society.
