The Employability Service organises, each academic year, more than a hundred group training activities to help students and graduates enter the labour market, and wants women and men to have the necessary knowledge and tooks to access the labour market fully equally. With this goal, it has begun a collaboration with the UAB's Observatory for Equality which has already seen results: the activity Inserció laboral amb perspectiva de gènere (Work insertion with gender perspective).

The session will be carried out by the expert Maria Eugènia Marín Mínguez -agent for equal oportunities by Barcelona Activa- and will take place on 28 February, Thursday, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting's Aula Carles Riba (004). The session will present the tools to detect and overcome obstacles towards equal opportunities, as well as to detect work environments which are friendly with gender equality. Therefore, it will give answers to questions such as: will I be able to get the same job being a woman? Will I have all opportunities in work promotion? How can I detect and face sexist work relations?

All UAB students and graduates may attend the activity, free of charge, and they must register in advance via the NEXUS application. All attendants will be able to download an attendance certificate.

If anyone is not able to attend the activity on 28 February, there will be other dates with the same registration conditions:

  • 7 March, at 12:30 pm, at the Faculty of Pshychology's Assembly Hall. By Maden Castillo, trainer/adviser in communication, leadership and equality in work.
  • 29 April, at 1 pm, at the Faculty of Communication Studies's Sala de Graus. By Joana Gallego, lecturer in journalism, expert in gender and communication and former director of the UAB's Observatory for Equality.

The professional orientation activities organised by the UAB's Employability Service are funded by the Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) with funds from the Ministry of Occupation and Social Security, via the Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (SEPE).
