One more year, the UAB celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

On Monday 11 February at 1 pm, the debate titled "La perspectiva de gènere transforma la ciència?" will take place at the Faculty of Sciencies and Faculty of Biosciences' Meeting Room, as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Under the lemma "Let's widen the outlook", The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona celebrates once again the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day addressed to defend access and full and equal participation of women in sciences.
 
This year, the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Biosciences, with the collaboration of the Observatory for Equality, have organised the debate titled La perspectiva de gènere transforma la ciència? (Does gender perspective transform science?).  The activity will take place at 1 pm at the Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Biosciences' Meeting Room and will include the participation of Sara Moreno, Vice-Rector of Students and Employability, Sandra Saura, lecturer at the Faculty of Biosciences, Cristina Sans Ponseti, PhD student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Núria Semis Campos, graduate in genetics by the UAB with the Minor in Gender specialty.
 
 
2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
 
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was approved by the UN in 2015 as part of the measures of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This initiative comprises 17 proposal categories encompassing all kinds of measures that governments must promise to implement to achieve a respectful future with human rights and the environment.
 
The 11th of February is part of the measures of the 2030 Agenda regarding gender equality and states that parity cannot be achieved without the full participation in equal conditions of women of all ages in scientifical and technological innovations.
