Requirements and Assessment Regulations

The External Placements subject is an optional subject in all undergraduate degree programmes of the Faculty of Law. The following students are eligible to undertake external placements:

  • Students enrolled in the course who have paid the supplementary insurance.
  • To enrol in the External Placements subject, students must have successfully completed the entire first year and obtained an additional 60 credits from the second and third years of the degree.

Requirements

  • Students may not have an employment relationship with the collaborating entity where they wish to carry out the work placement, nor a family relationship up to the second degree with any executive or the external supervisor.

Exceptionally, when a student wishes to undertake the academic external placement in an entity with which they have an employment relationship, or where a family relationship up to the second degree exists with an executive or the external supervisor, the degree coordinator (or equivalent position) must, after verifying the suitability and validity of the work placement, request authorization from the Vice-Rector responsible for this matter so that the student may complete the work placement under these circumstances.

Assessment regulations

  • Once all the work placements have been assigned, they cannot be renounced.
    • If a student withdraws before starting the work placement, the grade will be recorded as Not Presented.
    • If a student withdraws after having started, the grade will be recorded as Fail.
  • The Teaching Guide of each subject specifies the criteria used to determine the final mark.
