Characteristics of the placements
Curricular placements are academic activities integrated into the study plan. They constitute a formative activity undertaken by university students and supervised by the universities.
Their general objective is to allow students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired during their academic training, fostering the acquisition of competences that prepare them for the exercise of professional activities which, by their nature, can hardly be developed outside the contexts where professional practice takes place. These work placements also aim to enhance students’ employability and promote their entrepreneurial capacity.
To this end, the Faculty of Law of the UAB has many educational cooperation agreements with public and private entities for the completion of work placements.
The placements are managed by the Academic Management Office.
The duration of the curricular placements is determined by the study plan, depending on the number of credits assigned to the subject. The Teaching Guide of each subject specifies the number of placement hours and the corresponding credits.
Calendars and timetables shall be established according to the characteristics of the placements and taking into account the availability of the collaborating entity. In any case, they must be compatible with the student’s academic, training, and representative activities at the university.
