Call for expressions of interest: Beatriu de Pinós Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Institute for the History of Science (iHC) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) invites top-class researchers to apply for the Postdoctoral Beatriu de Pinós Fellowship to conduct research for a period of three years. Applicants will be invited to develop the full competitive Beatriu de Pinós application with the support of iHC’s researchers and the research administration staff at UAB.
The iHC invites top-class researchers to apply for the Postdoctoral Beatriu de Pinós Fellowship to conduct research. Applicants will be invited to develop the full competitive MSC application with the support of iHC’s researchers and the research administration staff at UAB.
The IHC research mainly focuses on the history of science in the 18th , 19th and 20th centuries, from diverse perspectives: science, politics and power; audiences as active agents in the construction of knowledge; the material, spatial and urban dimensions of science; the nature of technoscience, the environmental crisis, and the relation between science, health and gender.
DEADLINES
Deadline for the candidates to submit their expression of interest to the iHC: 05/01/2026, 24h (CET)
Period for the iHC to confirm or reject the proposals: from 12/01/2026 to 14/01/2026
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- PhD obtained between 01/01/2018 and 31/12/2023 (extendable to 2016 in justified cases: maternity, illness, disability, etc.).
- At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience outside Spain.
- Mobility rule: must not have resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
- Positions reserved for persons with a disability ≥33%.
- Must not have previously received a Beatriu de Pinós fellowship.

- CV, including track record and selected list of publications (5 pages max.)
- Description of the research proposal (2 pages max., excluding references)

DECISION
The Institute for the History of Science will evaluate all the received proposals according with the research lines and scientific interests of the iHC and will communicate the result in due time, allowing enough time for the application procedure.
