From 8 to 16 February 2017, the International Students Welcome Days (IWD) 2016-2017 will offer plenty of activities, training workshops and gatherings are organized for international students attending our University in the second term of the year.
On 15 February an information session will take place at the cinema hall of the Plaça Cívica to talk about the Fulbright grants for graduates interested in enrolling in master's degrees, PhD programmes or predoctoral research projects in American universities.
The UAB is one of 16 institutions participating in the Active Campus Europe project, coordinated by the RWTH Aachen University and with the objective of fostering physical activity and fighting against sedentary lifestyles among students.

According to UAB researchers, official poverty indicators – which show a shy increase from 20% to 22% in the 2004-2014 period – does not adequately reflect recent changes in the Spanish economy caused by the crisis. When the threshold of poverty levels in 2009 is used, the number of poor people between 2010 and 2014 go from 10.2 to 14.7 millions, an increase of 45%.
