University community comes together to protest against political repressions
Given the current situation of democratic regression, the UAB governing team and representatives of the trade unions called on members of the university community to participate in a demonstration today in front of the Rectorat building.
The UAB inaugurates its academic year at the Monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès
The Cloister of the Monastery of Sant Cugat hosted the official opening of the 2017/18 academic year on 21 September in an event which also marked the beginning of the UAB's 50th anniversary celebrations.

The UAB improves its position in the Times Higher Education ranking
The UAB ranks 147 in this year's edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. It is up 16 positions from last year's 163. The university improves its position in aspects such as citations, international outlook, and teaching.
Five UAB students among the world's silver medalists in water polo
Five members of the Spanish water polo team, who have just won silver in the World Championships, are students at the UAB and form part of the Tutoresport Programme: Anna and Clara Espar, Beatriz and Matilde Ortiz and Laura Ester.
Services at the UAB campus in August
During the month of August, UAB campus services will have special opening hours and some will close for a short period.
The Generalitat opens a call for 23 new Serra Húnter positions at the UAB
The new Serra Húnter call by the Government of Catalonia to hire new lecturers under international quality standards will be open until 1 October. There are twenty-three positions available at the UAB.
The UAB is ninth in Veterinary Medicine according to the Shanghai ranking
The UAB occupies ninth place worldwide in the field of veterinary medicine according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the ranking conducted by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
