Anna Zelno, teacher of the subjects Interculturality, Doing Business in Emerging Markets and Managing Services at the Study Abroad Pre-Established programme, has been nominated in the Manchester United Inspirational Role Model of the Year category, sponsored by Manchester United Football Club, at the European Diversity Awards 2019. Zelno, specialized in multicultural management, diversity and inclusion and former president of SIETAR España, the Spanish division of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research, is competing for the prize among 7 more candidates.

The European Diversity Awards are independent awards that recognise and celebrate organisations and individuals that have shown commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. The awards recognise excellence in the areas of gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, race, culture and religion across Europe.
"We’re living in divisive times, and minorities are sensing a lack of tolerance and acceptance across Europe, often characterised by open hostility and, in some cases, violence. The European Diversity Awards are proud to bang the drum for the societal benefits of equality, diversity and inclusion", according to the founder of the awards, Linda Riley.

The laureates will be announced on the 14 November, at the awards ceremony in London.
