ASOME
Research Group on Mediterranean Social Archaeoecology (2021 SGR 00525).
Research Lines:
The general objective of our scientific activity is to investigate the functioning and dynamics of the economic, social, and political relationships developed by Mediterranean societies during Late Prehistory, as well as to assess the ecological impact of productive strategies practiced at different paces and over varying time scales. The regions where our fieldwork and analytical studies are focused include the southeastern Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
Although the core discipline of our research is archaeology (primarily prehistoric archaeology), the group's scientific activity emphasizes interdisciplinarity, integrating other fields of knowledge such as physical anthropology and various branches of the natural sciences (geology, biology, chemistry).
