Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI)

Science Education

The UAB carries out some actions to ensure that its researchers disseminate their research activities among society so they can be understood by non-specialists, thereby improving understanding and social awareness and generating a critical view on scientific knowledge.

Observatory for the difussion of science

The ODC is an structure of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) which promotes the spread of science and promotes an inclusive vision of science as a part of our society.

Institute for Education Science (ICE)

The ICE is a structure of the UAB which is conceived as a meeting point between the university and the other levels of the educational system. The ICE develops its work in the areas of teacher training, educational research and innovation, and technical support in programs and projects related to teaching and learning.

Among other actions, the ICE promotes the Argó Program. The program provides training activities to baccalaureate and professional training teachers in order to update their knowledge. Teachers also have the opportunity to visit research centers and know research projects developed at UAB.

UABDivulga

The journal, available only in digital format, includes interviews and articles about research findings and doctoral dissertations developed by UAB’s researchers. UABDivulga is a website to bring science to the university community and the society.

PERFORM, coordinated by ICTA, aims to investigate the effects of the use of innovative science education methods based on performing arts in fostering young peoples’ motivations and engagement with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.

ORION

ORION aims to explore ways in which research and funding organizations in life sciences and biomedicine can open up the way they fund, organize and do research. ORION is a 4-year project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. CRECIM is one of the nine partners in the project.

DESIRE

The European project DESIRE (Disseminating Educational Science, Innovation and Research in Europe) develops models of diffusion and exploitation to ease the spreading of science education projects results to teachers. The DESIRE Project has been funded with the support of the Lifelong Learning Program of the European Union. CRECIM was one of the partners in the project.

On the other hand, the UAB is implementing some activities to find the needs and expectations of the territory so innovative solutions based on interaction and collaboration can be offered. Thus, the Hub B30 platform has generated a multidisciplinary and multisectoral coideation and cocreation environment to improve competitiveness in the B-30 area.
