The UAB will be showcasing its academic programmes for the 2019-2020 academic year at the Saló de l'Ensenyament (20 to 24 March) and Futura (22 and 23 March). Both education fairs will take place at the Montjuïc Fair venue in Barcelona. The UAB will offer information on its undergraduate degrees at the Saló de l'Ensenyament (Hall 1, Stand B-237) and on its postgraduate degrees at the Saló Futura (Hall 5, Stand B-230).

The UAB stand will be offering information on the academic programmes and services available to future students and secondary teaching staff. Both students and lecturers from the UAB will be informing visitors, and this year there will also be counsellors, people who will not inform on a specific degree of type of academic programme, but rather offer advice and guide students with doubts on different degrees.

The Saló de l'Ensenyament's opening hours will be: Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 March from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m; Saturday 23 March from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday 24 March from 9:30 a.m.to 2:30 p.m. The Saló Futura will be open on 22 and 23 March from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Both stands will be exhibiting the university's new promotional image in which the UAB's students play a central role.

In addition to the two fairs, the Saló de l'Ocupació Juvenil employment fair will also be taking place on 21 and 22 March from 9 a.m. to9 p.m. This is the third pillar of the Training and Employment Week, which includes the Saló de l'Ensenyament and the Futura fairs. The UAB Jobs Bank will also be present.

The UAB has also renewed its bachelor's degree information pages to help users have a better online experience. The new pages adapt to all mobile devices: mobile phones, tablets and computers, with a more attractive, clean and clear design.

Novelties for the 2019-2020 academic year

In the 2019/20 academic year, the UAB will offer new degrees in different academic areas. The Faculty of Communication Studies will offer two new degrees: Organisational Communication and Interactive Communication, both worth 240 ECTS credits (four academic years). The Bachelor's Degree in Organisational Communication will train professionals in the management of communication of businesses, institutes and organisations. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the concepts of corporate identity, brand, image and reputation, and will be prepared to manage both external and internal communications, focusing on the sectors of corporate communication, press offices, political communication, etc.

The Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Communication will equip students with the skills needed in digital communication, computer-generated contents, big data), video games, augmented reality and the creation of immersive surroundings. They will develop the skills to work with big data and generate journalistic products, or create characters and stories for computer-generated contents. Graduates will be able to form part of the professional sectors related to social networks, video games and interactive projects in general.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities will be offering the new Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary World Studies, with a duration of three academic years (180 ECTS credits) and taught fully in English. The degree combines knowledge in history, politics and economics with the aim of training professionals capable of interpreting social phenomena from the 20th century in a critical manner. Graduates can aspire to become consultants or analysts working for local and international organisations, social and business organisations, chambers of commerce, think tanks, NGOs, mass media, etc.

Two more new academic programmes will be offered next academic year. The Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS) engineering school, a UAB-affiliated centre, will be offering the Bachelor's Degree in Renewable Energies & Energy Efficiency, which will last four years and will train engineers in designing generation installations using renewable energies. And the UAB Faculty of Biosciences will offer the Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, an interuniversity programme offered jointly by the UB, the UPF and the UPC. This degree lasts three years and is offered fully in English, and is the only degree of its kind to be offered in Spain.

There will also be another notable novelty at the Saló de l'Ensenyament: the UAB dual pre-degrees, a new professionalising academic offer available exclusively at the UAB. These professionally oriented courses are offered before beginning a bachelor's degree and last one year (60 ECTS credits), aimed at young people who can access university and are interested in gaining professional skills in specific fields. They are based on a coordinated process between the university and the organisation offering them. At the education fair the specialist pre-degree programmes presented will focus on information systems for local administrations, which the UAB offers in collaboration with the Barcelona Provincial Council, and a pre-degree in radiology offered at the Teaching Unit Parc Taulí in Sabadell.

With regard to the Saló Futura, the UAB will present more than three hundred official and UAB-specific master's degrees spanning across all areas of knowledge and tailored to the specialisation needs of the professional world. The master's degrees aim to meet the demands of professional profiles of the future and open the doors to a cutting-edge local or international research career.
