Academic Training

Tuition fees

The tuition fee is calculated by adding the cost of the credits to be taken in the chosen degree, based on the established price per credit that the student has enrolled for the first time. You can check the price per credit on the degree's information page.

The price per credit includes the following taxes and insurances related to the studies:

  • Supporting tax for the UAB Academic Management (Economic Comission of the Social Council): 160€
  • Required Academic Insurance: 1,12€
  • Complementary Insurance for Accidents and Civic Responsibility: 9,72€ approx.

Price for repeated credit

In case you need to repeat any subject, a 5% surcharge will be applied for the second, third and subsequent enrollments.

Price for recognised credits

If you have any recognised credits (*), the percentage established in the decree on prices published by the Catalan Government will be applied once these credits have been recognised in your academic file.

(*) A recognised credit is a credit validated by the University. It may have been taken in a different degree, university or educational institution, or during an exchange program, and can be counted towards the current degree as long as it aligns with its curriculum.

Consequences of non-payment of tuition fees

The enrollment will only be considered valid if the tuition fees are paid within the stablished deadlines. If you fail to pay your tuition fees or recognised credits within the payment period, your academic file will be marked as having outstanding payments, according to the UAB's Tuition Regulations.

If you pay your tuition fees late, an additional surcharge will be applied, as established by the UAB's Social Council. For the current academic year, the Council approved an additional period for students that did not pay the registration fee during the established period, with the obligation of covering the administrative costs associated with each unpaid fees, according to the following penalties:

  • Up to 3 months after the registration fee (single payment) or the date scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd payments (deferred payment), as well as non-paid enrollment modifications: 7% of the due payment.
  • Between 3 and 6 months: 11% of the due payment.
  • More than 6 months: 15% of the due payment.

These penalties will also be applied on due invoices from past academic years. Also, an additional 0.6% (minimum 0,60€) will be applied for administrative banking fees.

To formalise a new enrollment or request any academic service (certificates, diplomas, credit recognition, etc.) it is essential that all pending payments and associated charges have been paid. If this condition is met, the payment default status will be removed at the beggining of the following academic year. Otherwise, a default period of five years will be applied (1 year for the course of the pending payment, plus 4 additional years).
