Getting your UAB email address, ID number (NIU) and password

You have an institutional UAB email that is the main communication channel.  Is for that reason that you should often access in order to be permanently informed of all the news that the center and the UAB may send you.
 
We advise you to set up this email in your mobile phone or automatically forward it to your personal email following the instructions that you will find in the manual.

So as to comply with the Law on Data Protection, the procedure for accessing the digital services of the UAB (email, intranet, campus virtual, etc.) is personal: i.e. users are responsible for obtaining their own NIU and password.
 
This can be done by visiting the page Managing passwords (https://oim.uab.es/opwd/?lang=en), which is also linked to from the Serveis d’Intranet page (http://sia.uab.cat).

Newly enrolled students can get their NIU and password once they have completed their enrolment, in one of the following ways.

1. With your ID document (this option will not be available after you have been issued the student card. In this case, go to option 2)

Click on "Obtaining the NIU and the password", type in your Tax Identification Number (NIF) or your passport number and click on Accept. You will be assigned a NIU, a password and an email account.


2. With the UAB card

Look for the section "associated with your NIU (university ID number)?" and click on "Generate one with the UAB card", typing in your NIU, NIF, date of birth, PAN, and new password). In this case you will already have the NIU, on your student card, and the only thing left to do is set the password.


B) Students who enrolled previously can access their details by clicking on:

- "Change your password". Type in the NIU and the old password, and then set a new one.

- If you cannot remember your old password: “Generate one with the UAB card” or “Generate one with your personal email address” in the section "Associated with your NIU".
