Argumentation and Debate Group (GAD)

The Iurislab Legal Clinic incorporates within its structure the Argumentation and Debate Group (GAD). The GAD is a student collective dedicated to the practice of academic debating, with a particular emphasis on the British Parliamentary style. This style, known for its dynamic and competitive structure, allows participants to develop key skills such as argumentation, persuasion, and critical thinking. Members of the group meet regularly to practise, exchange ideas, and refine their debating techniques, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual learning.

In addition to internal practice sessions, the Argumentation and Debate Group offers specialized training for its members, delivered by experts in the field, covering essential aspects such as argument structuring, refutation, and public speaking. Members have the opportunity to participate in debate tournaments at both national and international levels, where they can test their skills in a competitive setting and expand their network of contacts. These experiences not only enhance their academic and professional abilities, but also provide a platform for cultural exchange and personal growth.
