Large family members of foreign nationality

You will get this reduction if you have a large-family card from the Department of Social Welfare and Family of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

These reductions will be applied to official studies only, not to the UAB-specific ones.

At the moment of your enrolment you will need to provide the original and a copy of a valid large-family card.

If you wish to apply to enrol free of charge and your Gestió Acadèmica (Academic Management Office) has no details of your large-family card (for example, students from outside Catalonia or those who did not apply for a reduction in university-entrance exam [PAU] fees), scan the documents and email the scanned files to your Gestió Acadèmica to be stored and used to apply the discount on enrolment fees. Later on, you will need to submit the original documents or send in an attested copy by ordinary mail. If this has not been done before 6 November, your entitlement to a fee exemption will expire and you will be charged for the amount still due.

Your large-family member card needs to be valid when you enrol or up to ten days later. If you have applied for it but do not have it yet, you can show the application receipt, but you will need to supply the card later.

If you have paid the enrolment fee without the large-family reduction, but you have valid large-family documents on the date of enrolment, you can request a refund of the amount paid up to 31 December.

If you have your personal card only, you will also need to present the family card or a certificate issued by the Social Welfare and Family Department showing all the data of the large family card.
