Josep Pons Viladomat was named honorary doctorate by the UAB for his commitment to the music scene in Catalonia; for his contribution to the recovery of the Hispanic musical heritage; for his support of contemporary composers and new generations of instrumentalists; for the creation of innovative projects of excellence; for opening the musical event to new audiences of the 21st century.
