On 25 November, at noon, the UAB community held a minute of silence in memory of victims of gender violence. The initiative was held as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The exhibit "Children of the War" was on display at the UAB theatre until 9 December. The exhibit focused on one of the nicest examples of solidarity between communities: the reception of refugee children during the Spanish Civil War.
On 30 November, the UAB will be hosting the first of the series of #debatspúblicaXXI debates to discuss degree structure: a highly controversial subject that affects all university degrees on an educational and economic level.
The CVC and ICTA participate with three of their projects in the Smart City Expo World Congress which took place until 17 November in Barcelona.
The call will be open until 9 December. The P-SPHERE programme is offering a total of 24 postdoctoral positions of three years' duration for research stays at centres belonging to the UAB-CIE Sphere.
On 31 January and 1-2 February, the UAB organises its annual "Open Days", addressed to secondary school students interested in discovering the bachelor's degrees offered at the UAB. Over 200 talks will be given by lecturers of each of the degrees. Last year, a total of 22,000 students from 340 educational centres attended.
The QSO B0218 + 357 quasar was observed thanks to the gravitational lensing caused by a massive galaxy located between the object and Earth, a phenomenon predicted by Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.
The exhibit will be on display until mid-December at the entrance hall of the ICTA-ICP building and is the product of a meticulous observation of nature, the leitmotif and passion of its author.
The UAB and the Abertis Foundation have signed an agreement to create a campus linked to the UNESCO International Centre for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves and offer a space for research, dissemination, exchanges and innovation in this field.
