Citizen science, a great ally for biodiversity

The UAB and CREAF participate in a study which reaffirms the fundamental role of citizen science for the conservation of biodiversity and encourages to continue working to improve and increase contributions. The animals and plants which currently benefit from this most are birds, fungi and butterflies.

Pregnancy leads to changes in the mother's brain

A study directed by researchers from the UAB and IMIM are the first to reveal how pregnancy causes long-lasting alterations in brain structure, probably related to improving the mother’s ability to protect and interact with the child. The research was published in Nature Neuroscience.

Antoni Dávalos, head of the Neurology Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and lecturer of the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, has spent years researching ictus, which affect 12,000 people and is one of this year's fundraising themes of the UAB Solidarity Run.
